Patching question.

I already setup my Patcher and it's working perfect in the webhost (FileZilla FTP) and my computer.

This is where I'm stuck. I tried to figure the next step after this which is updating the .grf (http://rathena.org/wiki/Thor_Patcher)

I tried to add a custom item in my data folder. and everything is ready so I went to use ThorGenerator.

P.S. Am I suppose to create another folder and place everything I've added in that? Then Thor will automatically repack the grf for me?

Literally, i don't know where to start after setting up and connecting my Thor Patcher like to update the grf with new customs.

To add new custom items you need a directory like this New Folder>data>sprite/texture

cause thor patcher doesn't read data>texture for the custom that you going to add except .txt like clieninfo idnumberdesctable.txt and ETC...

when you adding on new custom items or any inside the data you need directory New Folder>data okay? after that all you going to do is put ACSII not UNICODE

Okay so. I'll put the .spr and .act in the corresponding folder which is:

Newfolder/data/sprite/¾ÆÀÌÅÛ

Newfolder/data/sprite/¾Ç¼¼»ç¸®/³²

Newfolder/data/sprite/¾Ç¼¼»ç¸®/¿©

with texture same steps right?

I don't get what you mean with the UNICODE and ACSII. What am I supposed to do?

Note: So, after that folder is all setup. When I use ThorGenerator to create a patch. What directory link I'm suppose to put? like this "Newfolder/data" ?

yes Newfolder/data/sprite/¾Ç¼¼»ç¸®/¿© that is correct directory for adding new custom.....you suppose to understand between ACSII and UNICODE read the link that i post above.....so you can know whats their differences....

oh well ill tell you here then o.o ACSII codes reads the orignal text like this ¾Ç¼¼»ç¸®/¿©

but when using UNICODES this ¾Ç¼¼»ç¸®/¿© will become 악세사리 i hope you can now understand....

Oh okay I understand the difference now..

How about the .txt files?

the idnum2desctable, idnum2resnametable, idnum2displaynametable? Should I also put it in "New Folder/data" ?

^ Like this? or do I have to do each folder one by one?

And do I Generate it with Unicode or Acsii?

for the idnum2desctable, idnum2resnametable, idnum2displaynametable you can do this "data" just a data lol....and use UNICODE for .txt or acsii it doesn't matter anyway as long as there is no À¯ÀúÀÎÅÍÆäÀ̽º bla bla it will be fine....

use directory 1st

input

directory > "Newfolder/data/sprite/¾ÆÀÌÅÛ" Options Acsii

second for the .txt

directory > "data" make your that data folder have those idnum2desctable, idnum2resnametable, idnum2displaynametable

there is many ways how you may add your patch...on above thats what i do...but you can do this also

input

directory > "Newfolder/data" on data should contain idnum2desctable, idnum2resnametable, idnum2displaynametable

then for the sprite Newfolder/data/sprite/¾ÆÀÌÅÛ

Note: if you are going to add custom items and such always use ACSII

Okay uhm. it stills stops at "Saving resources" when I patch my patcher any idea?

try vice versa on what i said ealier make "newfoler/data/sprite" put here all your custom items....

then for the .txt just make "data"

and make sure that thor patcher isnt running or your exe so it wont be saving resources

It seems like everytime i put it to ASCII. it errors to "Saving Resources". My .exe clients or anything related is not open.

Note: I converted the sprite and texture folder to ASCII. but those are the ones that keeps doing "Saving Resources".

But when I keep it to UNICODE. The sprite won't show :(

I also have this in my plist.txt

Try to check your Generated Thor File if the RO/GRF is the same as your GRF name.

^ Nope.. I really think it's the ASCII and UNICODE.. the patcher only doesnt load when I generate it with ASCII.

but when i generate it with Unicode. it works perfectly fine. but it does not update the custom..

And the filesize doesn't seem right o.o

It seems like it doesn't re-pack automatically :(
