They add a price for example, 1 million zeny or 100 KCP. When and if they sell the item, they click the NPC to obtain the zeny or KCP. When the person buys the item, it takes away the amount of zeny or KCP and they obtain the item. Now i know an NPC like this will get used a lot so maybe maybe it has menus like Armor, Cards etc and maybe a search function. Also maybe show the item listed in price order, from cheapest to most expensive. There should also be a set fee of zeny to list items into the NPC. I know there is an auction system but something like this would be better for buy it now instead of auction and also with 2 currency's.
