Can't even open client

Hi all,

The problem I'm experience is that I can't even open the diffed client in my RO folder. Short what I have used/tried:

- kro & renewal from http://kro.nickyzai.com/ (Full Client 2012-11-25 and tried also 2012-04-14).

- mydata.grf made with grfbuilder and alexandrias data folder http://rathena.org/b...english-folder/

also tried with the one Judas linked in his guide http://rathena.org/b...d-client-setup/

- added the system and ai folder that came with the datav3 mentioned above in the RO folder (also added the Setup.exe that comes with Judas linked data folder).

- created a data.ini as in Judas guide ([Data] 0=mydata.grf...)

- patched with rsu-kro-rag/renewal-lite.exe.

- downloaded the client 2012-04-10a from judas guide (all 3), diffed the undiffed and also tried the already diffed version (using shins diff patcher and weediffgen plugin for diffing).

- uses lub folder from Judas guide in grf (which should be used with the 2012-04-10 version if I understand it correctly).

Also good to mention is that when I run the client for the first time I get a pop-up that says: "Ragnarok_RE.exe is changed. Press ok to restart." and

a grey box shows. If I close it and run the client again nothing happens.

I think that covered most of the necessary information. I have used eathena a long time ago so I'm new to this data structure and lua/lub scripts.

Since I couldn't see anyone else having this problem, it's probably an embarrassing problem with an easy solution

Have you re-hexed the client to edit the title, this happends sometimes if your title is too big, happened to me so i re-diffed my client and hexed it with a shorter title and it resolved my problem.

Maybe this isnt your problem, but its what was making my client not work.

Thanks for your advice. I solved the problem while trying it out, though the cause was something different.

It was very strange actually , what I did was to try diff the exe without custom window title to see if there was a problem with it.

It worked now, so I thought it was my problem too. Then I diffed the exe like I did before (many times before) with the same name and tested it to see if it

didn't work again. To my surprise, it worked now! But why? It made me little confused and I would like to know the cause if it happens again, but for now

I'm happy it works =). The old patched exes still dont work and I'm very sure that I used the exact same diff options.

Thanks again, I will report if I ever find the real cause behind this problem. If anyone else knows why, then I would be happy to know =)
