eAthena to rAthena [ Help ]

Question

Posted

We're liking rAthena especially that our server is Renewal.

However, we do not know how can we switch to rAthena.

What are pointers to take note when switching to rAthena?

Will our eAthena files be removed/modified or will cause great conflict?

Does our server be affected, is there wipe-out something?

Well, I'm sorry for the noob questions. We just want to make sure everything gonna be fine when we move to rAthena.

Thank you so much rAthena.

Basicly, you download a rAthena revision, compile it with a couple of settings changed if wanted, then you change the conf's just like you would in eAthena, but there's no txt version afaik.

Your eAthena files will be unmodified if you keep them in separate directories and nothing will happen to them.

I'm not entirely sure if the mySQL DB's work on both the same way, someone else must answer that.

Thank you sir insarius. I hope all the source codes from eAthena will left unmodified.

Still looking for more answers.

As I said, if you download rAthena and put it in a different folder than eAthena, everything should be left untouched. :)

The MySQL databases are slighlty different so you will have to import/export your save data to the new tables manually.

Im in the process of doing this right now. The conf files are very different. I'm using a program called Beyond Compare to compare my rAthena and eAthena conf files and adjust as needed.
