the server initiates fine, no problems, I tried changing the account id for s1/p1 to 2000000 from 1, but the server rejected the log in, so I reverted it back to 1. Also when I run the client, during server selection it doesn't say my server, just "server" and log in gets "failed to connect to server" error.

my data.ini just says

[Data]

2=data.grf

I'm wanting to run this solely on my machine, no outside connection.

help would be greatly appreciated.

The s1/p1 has to be an id 1

Then login by doing testing_M (Male) or testing_F (female) for username then type password any password you want, thats just for creating a new account. You cant use s1/p1 to login cuz thats only accessed by the server itself.

i've tried logging in as testing_M / testing_F with no success, still failed to connect to server. My server doesn't even show that something tried to connect to it, which makes me think it's my clientinfo, because unless I'm mistaken it's the part of this system that tells my client where to look for the server. I know I can't connect with s1/p1 that's why there is another account in my sql that I've been using to try to connect with.

I assume you're using data folder base on your data.ini. Make sure you included "read data folder" while diffing.
