Intel, unless you're on some budget. Also I'd suggest the unlocked version of that i7, if you're into overclocking.

On a budget but it is not that tight =p My primary interest was getting the Intel (and am still going to get it) but was just wondering on any opinions on that new bulldozer core.

Here's something I have no experience on: CPU Coolers. /me has no idea which one to get? After looking at bit-tech's review on some of them (http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2011/07/21/antec-k-hler-h2o-920/2) it seems Antec Kuhler is the way to go but that is water-cooled (something else I don't have any experience with).

Antec Kuhler 920 (while 620 is $70)

Thermaltake Frio $66 <-- Best value it seems + not water-cooled

CM Hyper 212 EVO $34

Go for Intel. If you wanna save your budget, go for AMD /no1 For CPU Coolers i suggest this baby:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181015&Tpk=h60

go for H60 or H80.

Best CPU cooling solution (price/performance), and it's simple to set up and maintenance.

It's the best choice for me...

Corei7 is better than AMD: http://ibxk.com.br/2...48732913104.jpg

Why I chose AMD and not Corei7? If you want core i7, you need be careful when choice the other pieces, because it have a lot incompatibilities and can lead to high temperatures. Particularly I think the core i5 is better than corei7 in this thing.

@Off

You will buy for me as a Christmas present this year, right? :wub:

@Jguy

Yea I get mixed review about the case, some love it while some hate it =p I do have other cases that I like but this case won out overall in terms of cooling ability/space/value as it currently is the top case out for natural air cooling.

You're also right about 8 Cores; I don't see that being useful for at least another 3-4 years when Software Devs finally catch up and start recoding their crap to be more efficient =[

@Quesoph

Primarily gaming but want it to last 2-3 years at least; want it close to top-end.

@Protimus

My current laptop is i7-Q230M and it works wonders, my friends also own a few i7's and I have not really noticed any issues as of yet. For a while now, I do not know anyone IRL who owns an AMD (although I am more of an AMD fan but I like to get whatever is top at that point in time =p). No present, I will be broke ;D

Also why would you choose the Corsair Vengeance series RAM? Dominator is their high-end/flagship line. Dominator GTX > Dominator GT > Vengeance.

@Feistz/Yetsuki

I've decided to go with the Antec Kuhler 620 series because of all the forum posts/reviews I have read through googling about it. 620/H60 are almost the same items built by the same company except the tubing in Antec is apprently more flexible; people tend to recommend it over the H60 model. H80/Kuhler 920 cost about roughly the same and I do not think I need something of that much performance as of yet =p (620 saves me about $50)

Added a Samsung SSD to the list and changed PSUs and decided to go with Corsair AX850 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139015&Tpk=AX850) =p Amazon has it on sale for $175 + free shipping with Amazon Prime. Full modular + Gold rating means I'll earn back the money in 2 years =p
