Hello everybody,

I'm trying to setup my own rAthena Server (otherwise I wouldn't be here I guess). I've installed the Server stuff on my CentOS Server already, running the latest rAthena from Github.

The Question I now have is, what I have to do to get a Client running, I've seen plenty of Tutorials on how to do this and do that, etc. The actual question I have is, how do I find out, what Client I need for my current Server, what are the differences in using Version X over Version Y, do I have to chose my Client according to my rAthena Version?

I hope someone could bring some light in my World ?

Thank you in advance and kind regards,

Shadow

Thanks for your reply. Doesn't answer my question though. What's the difference between the clients, when should I pick which, etc.

Maybe someone else has an answer to that?

There are 2 kind of clients that are supported:

1. Ragexe.exe = Client used by MAIN server of korean ragnarok online, mostly stable.

2. RagexeRE.xe= Client used by SAKRAY aka TEST server of ragnarok online, many new features are tested, expect some bugs.

The first client used by emulator is Sakexe.exe (An older version of RagexeRE.exe), then it changed to RagexeRE.exe around 2009, few years later(2013) developer made decision to use Ragexe.exe instead for the sake of stable development.

But, in mid 2015, they changed it again to RagexeRE.exe, because of some issues when unpacking Ragexe.exe.

2015-11-04aRagexe is the latest stable client.

Okay, so if I understand that right, as long as my data.grf is compatible with my server version, I can basically use any client version? How can I tell if the client is classic or renewal ?

Also, where can I download this specific client?

Ok, let me put it that way, I want the old Client (1 Skill bar, single Windows for Stats and Equipment, non-sortable Storage, etc.) Basically I want a pre-renewal (classic) Setup like iRO Classic.
