    I'm a newbie I followed the steps in rAthena Wiki

    First time to create private ro server

    and after I completed it i'm gonna host it online somewhere.

    So here's my problem.....

    I'm done with the Server-side Steps

    Now I'm on the Client-side Steps

    and this was what happened

    What am I gonna do now to fix this?

    I followed rAthena Client Side Steps.

    After I run my .patched nothing happens

    What did I missed? I lacked?

    Please help me, tell me all the solutions that could fixed this.

    I saw this http://rathena.org/wiki/Data_Folder_Structure

    Based on the above link my Data Folder lacks the ff:

    1.imf

    Contains files that control the thumbnail views of characters in the Character Selection Screen.

    2. model

    Various map model's. Examples of model's are statues, foliage, street lights, ect. Folder also contains various sub folders which are too many to list.

    3. palette

    Folder body and hair for palettes.

    4. sprite

    Base folder for sprites. Has a sprite for a shadow (goes underneath the character?), a numbers sprite for countdowns (or counting for something).

    5.texture

    Folder for various .bmp images, from items to interface and other things like that. The logo is also stored here, the logo is shown in screenshots, on the lower right hand side. Various map textures in main and sub folders, too many to list.

      Folder for skill effects. Effects have to be .tga format.

    6. wav

    All the game sounds for monsters, and attacks.

    Questions:

    1. Are these really important? Why? if so, where could I get this (any links)?

    2. Are these files going to be in my installer (setup.exe):

    1. Data - Comment: What if they edit them like sprite, palette. Would it destroy my server?

    2. 2011-09-06aRagexeRE.exe.patched - Can I rename this after all is done?

    3. What else needed under my installer?

    Please help me, and sorry for being a newbie, It's my first time.

    I placed the .patched in the Ragnarok Folder and after I run it there's nothing coming out.

    1. Is my data folder correct? I think it's not. Please correct me. Do you know some links to download that "most recent data folder"? Does it synchronize with the RagRE exes I downloaded and diffed?

    2. How to create the grf? Is it important? why?

    3. How am I able to connect the client side to my server side? Would this be the way on scripting in Server Side database and then does it automatically updates with the client after I saved it?

    Server Side Software and files I used:

    -MySQL

    -Visual Studio 2010

    -rAthena

    -Tortoise SVN

    -Ragnarok 2012-06-05

    I want to be a better administrator, the time would happen when I create and publicize my own private server. So Please teach me and produce steps.

    Sharpienero you are the one that created the video about the server side, right?. That really helps on newbies. I thank you very much for that. However now's the time to know what client side is. rAthena Wiki lacks steps on the Client Side: Where to paste, what to download, what requirements, etc. This is what I want to know.

    Proper I.P. & Proper Ports to use?

    Ok I think I'm almost done.

    I tried these ports 1027,1028,1029,3306,5121,6121.

    and do you know what happened?

    sometimes error has:

    -unknown packet

    -make_listen_bind: bind failed

    -make_connection: connect failed

    So here the ports I used now

    and look what happened,

    now I'm stuck on this, not knowing the PROPER PORTS to be use, I'm a newbie though...

    Whoever knows this I think it might solve all the connection problems.

    What ports or I.P should be use?

    Got Error Code: 1048. Column 'SP' Cannot be null from mobs_db.sql from rAthena SVN

    First, I execute the mobs_db.sql on MySQL with error

    Next, I execute the items_db.sql on MySQL without errors

    so I updated my rAthena SVN but still....

    mobs_db.sql: FAILED with error

    items_db.sql: SUCCESSFUL

    Note:- I followed the steps on rAthena Wiki and it says that it doesn't matter what executes first either items or mobs database.

    - What I did were only copy > paste > execute.

    What's seems to be the problem?

    Is there a problem with the mobs_db.sql from rAthena SVN?
