Ok thanks anyway for the replies.
I'll just fiddle around with settings until i can get something similar to the original. I chanced upon the TAB key which is incredibly useful for comparing.
marking as solved.

Is it possible to restore lighting from the original RO maps?
When i open up certain maps, they do have bulbs.
Calculating lightmaps as is gives me a black screen, so i took a look at the individual lights.
In the screenshot below, i've opened 1@nyd. It seems the bulbs have all lost their height-position, range, max.light increment, and falloff values. I'm not sure about the shadow y/n...
In other maps (eg. prt_in), sometimes the bulbs are all bunched in the same position and have a huuuuge lightfalloff.
I wonder if it's possible to restore these values at all...
I'm asking this because i want to try adding lights to certain parts of a map, while leaving other bits the same.
edit:
As a side note, I did watch Syouji's videos. Can you import multiplicative lightmaps?
(I was thinking perhaps i could export the original colours, then calculate lights in a certain area, export that and then merge these two images in photoshop or something... D;)
Any replies still appreciated.

Global Lighting will effect how shadows look across the faces.
Ah ok that's what i needed to know. Much obliged.

Hey I really appreciate the response, and i watched the video too. Thanks!
I'm still unsuccessful though.
Here i put a Sun in the corner [intensity 127, LFalloff 0.01]
Then i put a second lamp in the same corner, below the sun [intensity 127, LFalloff 0.01, Shadows]
Both lamps have a range of 500 and look to cover the textured area.
This is what i get:
The faces of the objects aren't lit up by the lamps, even if i move the light much closer to the object.
I could fidget with the Global Lighting to make the shadows on the faces and the shadows on the floors correspond, but i really want to know how i can light up the side of an object.
What am i doing wrong?

Hello hello,
This is probably a simple problem but i can't seem to find the solution.
I only recently started playing with Browedit. r586.
My object doesn't appear to be affected by lamps. How can i change this?
Thanks kindly

I remember playing a server where the GMs used Trickster monsters in custom areas.
I believe the guy responsible for all those sprite files is the owner of Green Peach.
A download with nearly 150 mobs is linked in the thread below:

Whether or not it includes the monster you've posted, i don't know.
Good luck.
