So I have been trying to get connected to a private server I am trying to host for a small group of friends and everyone gets the 'Failed to Connect to Server' message after the select service step.  I have read many similar topics here on the forums and followed the instructions that seemed to work for others but to no avail.

The actual computer the server is hosted on is running Linux and is not mine, so I am trying to connect from an external IP.  The owner of the server can connect and create a new character.  The ports 6900 ( login ), 6121 ( char ), and 5121 ( map ) have been forwarded.

I have tried adding exceptions to my firewall, disabling the firewall, and forwarding ports of my own.  Nothing seems to work.

Configuration is as follows:

login_athena.conf:

Hi sir,

We have the same configuration but I still don't know why im still getting "failed to connect to server" I also forwarded all the ports and according to canyouseeme.org, all ports are open.. but everytime I select my server its always failed to connect. btw, im using my own PC (Server) to connect to the server through WAN is this possible? or I need to test this using different WAN or Public IP.

Thank you!
