Disconnect after selecting character

After weeks of getting all of our customs in to a new core of rathena, we tried to get our Beta version of the server running.  Everything looks good on the server end, but when a user tries to connect to the server, they disconect after selecting thier character.  I remember seeing this before and for the life of me I cannot remember what causes it nor can I find the solution to this on the forums (I'm sure it is posted somewhere and I have failed at searching.)  Does anyone have any ideas or need any additional information?

did u check ur map_athena.conf?

The WAN IP is in correctly for char and map, same thing with the ports in map_athena.conf

Figured it out.  Port forwarding was setup wrong for the test server.  I feel really... really stupid.  thanks for the help anyway ><
