.eot file error

I am using:

I am having a problem with .eot file. This problem started after updating the kRO.

 

I tried to diff my client and uncheck the box that says read .eot files. but still nothing happened.

 

I already tried to put the .eot files on system/Font but the problem is the language became korean and the messages (e.g. "Failed to Connect") became "NO MSG".

 

My screenshots are attached below. I already searched for solutions and I came up with those I did stated above but I cant really fix it. This is my first time setting up a private server and Im a total noob. Any help would be appreciated.

 

**edit: I think the problem here is not .eot files. The problem is in my GRF file.

Which client .exe are you using?

Where did you get your kRO basic starter download? 

Which data file download are you using?

 

Start with that much, and we'll move forward from there.  I'm having a lot of issues getting up and started myself, but maybe we can combine our lesser experiences into something and gain from it.

hrm... lub files eh?... try using alexandria's v3. (for 2012 and later) and make a grf out of it

I already tried that one. But still doesnt work.

I tried using grf file of other private servers and it works fine. so I wonder whats wrong with my grf file.

I tried opening the grf file you gave to me using grf builder but it says "the selected file doesn't look like a valid GRF file".

Ok man... I'm going to go ahead and outline for you what I had done...

 

Horrible time downloading these, get the latest full release... yes, ALL the files... This is a clean installation build of the game.

Then you'll need Alexandria's respective build.... if you plan to use a more recent version (2012 or greater) then use v3... if ealier, v2 or v1... depending

ONCE YOU HAVE HER DATA FOLDER... go into the folder, be sure to edit the clientinfo.xml prior to building your grf!!!  Add your correct IP, make sure (if you're using 2012-04-10 exe it's version 30) you're using the correct version.  Make sure the IP address is yours... etc...

 

Then with that in mind, you'll need one of the clients... I recommend 2012-04-10a... it's clean and updated.

On that same website ( http://supportmii.com/ro1/Clients/ ) you'll find at the bottom, Weediff2012Pack... download it HOWEVER you will need a replacement dll.

This is the part that had me worst off... I couldn't find any answer to it, and the answer I did finally get came from Kodak, a user on this very forum.  Basically the original Diff agent was created by "Shin" as people call him.  And later on around 05-2012 Earthlingz (a user on this forum as well) created an updated version of it.  I don't know why it doesn't work with those later clients.. it was explained to me that *some* of earthlingz's patches didn't quite pan out (i don't know the story)... but to use ai4rei's instead...

(reason being because you have to diff your exe to A) not read the data folder, and skip packet header obfuscation - a problem that becomes all too apparent)

 

On that note, the exe was built for me... But perhaps you can do some digging and get ahold of that dll (WDGSkipPacketHeaderObfuscation.dll)

 

Diff the client.

Create a grf using any builder... easy to dig up on this forum...

create the grf OF the data folder you download from alexandria

 

Create a new folder, call it Ragnarok Online...

Unpack all of your downloads of the basic kRO download into the folder... ensuring to maintain each of them has a lateral relationship with each other

 

Copy the grf and your PROPERLY DIFFED ragexRE executable to your folder

 

Start the game up using your exe... it's that, dare i say - simple..  Biggest thing to realize... if you get a 0x970 byte error in your server.. that disconnects your client... that is a version inconsistancy in your client.  If you use all the specifically mentioned versions in this particular guide... that shouldn't happen...

 

IF you get an error stating a #7 disconnect, unknown packet(blahblah)  ... that is because your client was not diffed correctly, to IGNORE packet header obfuscation...

 

You follow this guide, square away those couple few details, and you're good.

do you mean I should download new dll files and replace the ones already with the folder? if yes, where can I get those?

There is only 1 dll that really matters, and it's the WDGSkipPacketHeaderObfuscation.dll ...that dll does not work with later clients... you can see this in action by attempting to diff a 2012 client, and observing that it has NO option to "skip packet header obfuscation"...

 

I however, do not know where to get the correct dll... as stated above.  That's where I must leave it up to you guys =P

I see, so theres no problem with that since there is the option "skip packet header obfuscation" when I try to diff my exe.

I think the only problem is the korean language I stated above which I think is in my GRF file. I tried using MyRO grf file and the login screen is in english.

anyone who had the same problem and knows how to fix this. Please post it here. I will really appreciate your help.

Ok that specific issue yes, comes down to your "lua" files... with 2012-04-10, if you download alexandria's v3 pack, and diff up "ONLY THE DATA folder" you'll find that problem solved

**you'll also find an option in your differ... load lua files before lub.. .check that

I tried to load lua before lub but i got additional error and the language is still in korean and "NO MSG" appears.

yah, that about taps me out on knowledge man.  I wish i could be of more help.  IF you're using 2012-04-10 Renewal exe, and v3 of alex's data folder, then I don't know how you're getting any language issues...
