Custom Monster Sprite Guide

It has been a very long time since I looked at a guide to creating custom Mob sprites / .act files etc. and I am having trouble locating one, could someone point me in the right direction? I would greatly appreciate any help.

I know the data folder and sprite directory well. Thank you though.

I'm not looking for where to place the custom files, I am looking for details on how to properly build .act files and what color 'modes' are usable,

which color transparencies work correctly etc etc to properly create a working mob sprite.

I Found & pieced together everything I needed, I guess I will write a detailed guide for this soon hmmmm..
