ok, i added all the items i wanted to, to my server that currently runs on 127.0.0.1, but now i want to make it so my friends can play.

I am currently using a laptop with a router. I have tried changing my map_athena, char_athena, subnet_athena to my WAN IP, but that didn't work and now i am stuck. I don't really know if i need to portforward or know how.

Thanks for anyone who helps me!

if you port forward still not yet success. u must know your client read data.grf or data folder. if read data.grf no matter how you change in data folder clientinfor.xml. your friend wont be able to connect to your server. becos in data.grf inside clientinfor.xml not your wan ip address.

not suppose to have 3 difference name?

charserv

logserv

mapserv

you have to set your ip to static ip.

example

192.168.1.200~300 (this is your static ip that want use for your wan ip set in ur server)

255.255.255.0

192.168.1.1 (here is your ip address can get from start/Run/type : cmd(window xp), Start/Search bar type: cmd (window7)

in cmd type: ipconfig/all (should able to see detail for static ip)

go to google type whatismyip can get your real ip address that use for no-ip

correct me if wrong =)

so, what are you saying? lol.

That i don't need to portforward at all? I just need to change map_athena, char_athena, subnet_athena to my WAN ip? i did that already and it didn't work.

What you need to do is use your ip from cmd in your conf files it should be something like :

Untitled-1.png

when you port forward you port forward 6900 to 6900 || 5121 to 5121 || 6121 to 6121 ||

and it should require you to put the last digits after the . so on mine I would have to put 2 when port forwarding but it can be up to 3 digits.

alright, i portforwarded, now i just need to know what to change the map_athena, char_athena, and subnet_athena too.

I tried d/ling the Portforwardchecker, but it doesn't seem to install on my computer, so im going to assume the ports are open.

If the server can connect to it's self then you did it right are you giving your WAN address in your clientinfo.xml? go to whatismyip.org to get it.

Please don't bump so much rather then keep bumping the topic over and over PM the person that was helping you...

Please remember your not the only one that needs help around here.

There's a read me that should have been included with your download. I believe this is what you're looking for.

Character Server:

  1. Open /conf/char_athena.conf
  2. Change userid and passwd (s1/p1) to what you want your server's communication details to be.
  3. Change Server_Name to what you want to call your server.
  4. Remove the // before login_ip.
  5. Remove the // before char_ip and change 127.0.0.1 to your WAN IP.

Map Server:

  1. Open /conf/map_athena.conf
  2. Change userid and passwd to the same thing you set in char_athena.
  3. Remove the // before char_ip.
  4. Remove the // before map_ip and change 127.0.0.1 to your WAN IP.

Subnet:

  1. Open /conf/subnet_athena.conf
  2. Change 255.0.0.0 to your "Subnet Mask", change the two 127.0.0.1 to your LAN IP.

MySQL Settings:

  1. Open /conf/inter_athena.conf
  2. Find the "Global SQL Settings" and change them to your SQL server's settings.

Message of the Day:

  1. Open /conf/motd.txt and edit it to change the in-game MOTD.

about /inter_athena.conf

if you using default ragnarok u should ignore the setting here. (mean ragnarok default) becos relate with sql.

Character Server: (remove the // infront of them)

login_ip: Lan Ip ( the ip you set in static like 192.168.1.200~300 something like that)

char_ip: Wan Ip (if you register no-ip should get the adress put here)

Map Server:

char_ip: Lan Ip ( the ip you set in static like 192.168.1.200~300 something like that)

map_ip: Wan Ip (if you register no-ip should get the adress put here)

Subnet:

subnet: 255.255.255.0:192.168.1.300:192.168.1.300 (if you set 300 for static ip)

subnet: 255.255.255.0:Wan IP:Wan IP (change wan ip to your no-ip if you use)

once you change to Lan Ip and Wan IP

-char_athena.conf

-map_athena.conf

in your computer ragnarok folder. inside data/Clientinfo.xml or Customdata.grf/Clientinfo.xml

change to 192.168.1.300 (if you set 300 for static ip)

For ur friend inside data/Clientinfo.xml or Customdata.grf/Clientinfo.xml (depend ur client read grf or data (folder)

change to no-ip/Wan ip

I've done everything mentioned in this thread and I still can't get my friends to connect after I put in my router. (ports forwarded, no-ip clientinfo with players, tried what was put into the thread) and still nothing.
