[SOLVED] Looking for help or WTB pre-renewal client

Hi,

I used to play ragnarok alot as a kid and now I kinda want to come and enjoy the game I loved.
Trough various guides I managed to setup a hercules dedicated server on ubuntu (SVN). I realized there are some sprites/items and maps my current patched ragexe doesn't have.
Now I spent the last probably 24hrs figuring out how to make my own client with english translations and (for now) no costum items - just a plain old pre-renewal client.
Somehow I cannot wrap my head around this topic at all, I run into errors all the time, trying to fix one issue brings up further.

I am giving up. Spent alot of time looking for guides, those were mostly ages ago and didn't work in the end.
It may be that I am the issue for not understanding what I need to do. At this point I am desperately looking for help - either coaching me to do what needs to be done or build me the client I need.
I am willing to pay a fair price, maybe someone is interested OR could provide an up-to-date guide on how to handle stuff.

PS I did post it on hercules board aswell and asked in serveral discord channel, nothing yet

edit: solved, do not use a new client for pre-renewal server // 2019-05-30aRagexe works with NEMO + translation

as I thought the new client was NOT compatible with the pre-renewal server. took a wild guess and use 2019-05-30aRagexe now and it actually works.
It seems I do not need any more help with that, thanks!

Well, why would u want to use an old client? theres no need to... only use a new client and use pre-re configurations on the server... you can also use pre-re translations from llchrisll

Ok, wouldnt the client then give you the opportunity to create a summoner or other RENEWAL stuff?

if its disabled in the server (src) theres no way they can create anything out of pre-re, unless you add it in dbs or src.

you can enable pre-re in src by going into folder src/config/renewal.hpp
remember to recompile your rathena after doing this

I tried doing that, ran into an error and googling it shows that I should re-compile my server, which I am not doing since I want it to be pre-renewal.
so maybe using the latest Client is no recommended for a pre-renewal server I guess?
