You should ask yourself if it's smart to do it yourself or if you rather want to hire someone doing it for you. Hello! Do you just want to do the design or also code it? If it's just the design you should either try getting photoshop or a different program. If you could explain a bit better what exactly you mean I might be able to help more.
Last option would be to hire someone to do a theme for you.
