So I have been trying to get connected to a private server I am trying to host for a small group of friends and everyone gets the 'Failed to Connect to Server' message after the select service step. I have read many similar topics here on the forums and followed the instructions that seemed to work for others but to no avail.
The actual computer the server is hosted on is running Linux and is not mine, so I am trying to connect from an external IP. The owner of the server can connect and create a new character. The ports 6900 ( login ), 6121 ( char ), and 5121 ( map ) have been forwarded.
I have tried adding exceptions to my firewall, disabling the firewall, and forwarding ports of my own. Nothing seems to work.
Configuration is as follows:
login_athena.conf:

Experience in Game != Experience in mob_db
in General Support
Posted · Edited by Arathanis
The experience listed for monsters in the mob database is very different from what they provide in game.
Example:
Set rates to x1/x1
Set Base Level to 1
Use @mobinfo on 1002 ( Level 1 Poring ), Returns Base Experience of 27.
Check mob database for poring, displays Base Experience of 2.
What is going on here? I want to make an NPC that suggests monsters for you to kill based on the experience they give you ( I am aware of the renewal changes ) but nothing functioning as expected makes this near impossible to do.
