  1. Sorry for the late reply I got super busy with work. Hm Yeah I didn't think about the paladin which would be super bulky. I don't want to replace the entire sprite though, its what I was trying to avoid. I wonder if since trying to make items over would be so awkward on some it would be possible just to layer-over custom colors of the different pieces. Instead of picking a color to replace their whole outfit they could at least mix and match sections to different colors without having to go through a roulette of hundreds of colors to find one you like that I've seen on some servers.
  2. Ah it was just an image of the equipment slots for referense. Maybe this one will work? http://ragnarok.levelupgames.ph/episode18/images/features_others03.jpg I was just trying to show that there seems to be servers can show most of the slots but then theres those 3 neglected slots I've never seen used to character customization.
  3. I was playing with some sprites, I work for other games and was wondering if any Private RO server has more customization then just the head and back. I've never seen anything like what I've got in mind on the official servers. I understand that the Character is done as a body and a head serperate making the entire class outfit one whole piece. But I wonder if anyones managed to simply have items lay over that outfit? For instance, looking at the equipment window (I just googled for one I have no idea who this is.) Usually the 3 head slots, the left and right hand will show on the official servers. I've seen on private servers sometimes the accessory slots will show on the character too. Not that the particular items this person is wearing in the accessory slots would show just that from my experience if the server is useing custom items for wings or backpacks these items are usually placed as accessorys. Is there any server out there that allows items in the body, robe, or shoes slots to show? I imagine in order for this to work the items would have to be made to fit over the character's current outfit which may make custom things a bit awkward since pieces of the body cannot be replaced like in other games. But thats getting ahead of everything, I'm wondering if theres any server that can do such or if making items for those slots would be a waste or involve making an entire body edit rather then just that one area.
  4. I don't think the male one is allowed. The person says they're doing it for their own game and doesn't say wether or not you're allowed to. I'd make my own and just kind of get an idea from it since you mentioned already starting your own. Besides everything feels better when its your own work! The girl one the person says its ok to use it if you give them credit and link back to them. Its missing a lot of frames though you'll still have a lot of work ahead of you before it will work in game.
  5. I was looking for the same thing and couldn't find much. I think each may be done seperately when they make them since I noticed even classes that step similar don't match. For instance when they Gypsy Steps, even though her legs cross to step the back leg twists as to her shoulders. When the female Assassin Cross steps she makes the same cross leg step however her back leg and her shoulders stay straight. Then theres others like the female hunter that doesn't cross step at all. Because of this I think there either is no base and each is unique or else they have several bases that gravity uses when making their sprites. However there are a few things I've seen some people try making. This person has some sprites http://www.hbgames.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=159&t=44423&start=0 but since it was 2008 anything not there i doubt he'll show up with. and then theres this one from a DA artist but its again not complete walk sheets http://elychan.deviantart.com/art/Base-Ragnarok-Online-24284580 but then each only provides one base style (what looks to be a dancer and a swordman) and they're both incomplete sheets. At least theres a male and a female I guess? They don't match in style though so you'd still have to do your own work and neither says its ok to use for a game if thats your end goal. But they're examples if thats all you need since it seems you just want an idea of how to start.
  6. Heh I've very much interested in sticking around. I have a lot of fun with this kind of stuff. But I know myself well enough to know if I let myself be shy I'll just run off. So I'm trying to look about and force myself to post as much as I can so I don't do that again.
  7. No, I don't think so this is my first time using this name. When I played before I went by ArticFox but only frequented the forums of PServers that I played with. I've looked them up but it seems they're all gone now so I'd asume so are my sprites. This is my first time on a dev community forum. Thank you for the welcome!
  8. That sounds really cool! I know what you mean about the beginning, if you don't start with a friend to explore with you as soon as you drop out of the tutorial you can be quite lost. The changes your talking about sound like it will be a lot of help to new coming players. It sounds really exciting that you're willing to let more people get in on the fun. I might take you up on that but I wont be available for a month or so, I have to finish up my current jobs. I'm not a scripter I am an artist working currently on other games. I don't know if you'd want that kind of help but I'll know more about my situation in a month or so. If I'm free I have been considering looking for a RO project to join. If you are though and if in a month my schedule free's up and you're still looking for people to help out you may hear from me. =) I hope your server goes well!
  9. Hello Ryan! I'm new around here as well. What kind of customizing have you been doing? ~If you don't mind sharing! After being a long time RO fan I thought it had gone and no one was interested anymore. Its very fun and exciting to see people still interested and wanting to make new fun unique servers.

    Hello

I'm a bit shy. I've been around here for 4 days or so finally made an account yesterday and now 4 or 5 days after getting here I'm finally posting. I'm a 7 year pixelist/spriter and long time Ragnarok Fan. I've done sprites for Ragnarok in the past, not sure at this time if I'll get into it again. It depends on how my current job goes and if I'll have time. Some very neat projects going on around here that all seem pretty awesome. I've got lots of questions but I'll save them for later. I usually become less of a lurker the longer I spend somewhere so I hope to get to know many of you.
