  1. I wasn't talking about making RO a moba game. Some MOBA/MMO games have a complex server-side architecture, where most things are decided by the server and this helps with the cheating problem. Like a thin client. The RO client have too much power.
  2. 1) Ragnarok is an old game (11 years?), how long until it becomes public domain? So all the sprites, textures and everything else could be used without restrictions. 2) How hard would it be to change the architecture of the emulator so it would be similar to LoL or Dota 2? Or and MMO architecture, where the server decides what can be done and do all the math, reducing cheating and eliminating things like nodelay since the client doesn't have much power. 3) I've been away from the emulator and RO for 3 years or more. Is RO1 still getting updates? Gravity have any plans to abandon it? 4) 3rd classes were a failure, right?
  3. Would you be able to change controls to WASD instead of using mouse clicks? Oh man, the possibilities! Another thing, i don't know much about game development but new mmo's tend to mask and help people to play with higher latency. RO's client have a huge problem, if you lag even a little bit you get freezed and teleported back to your last valid cell, something to fix that would be awesome. This issue also happens without server/client lag, it seens that the game just can't keep up with people on the screen, so you can cast a aoe and hit nothing or be unable to use a skill because the user is OOR. Nice work man.
  4. has anybody ever tought about replacing the ragnarok client with another game client? wait, before you rage: - i don't mean create a new client from scrach (there were several projects, all of then are dead or "in dev" for years and suddenly the project is dropped) - im talking about ignoring Gravity (also for copyright reasons) and using a new 3d client / engine for it, just porting all the work already done here. Ofc that the sprites would change, but what really matters is the mecanics/stats/skills. RO gameplay is something we will never find again in any other game, i'm talking about War of Emperium. I played WoW, Rift and many other mmo's and all i can say about then is that they suck because there's no WoE RO2 is so disappointing, it's just a cheap wow clone. I have a dream: a RO2 created by the community with a new engine, but keeping the same gameplay.
