Hi all,

It is my first time adding a custom map, I downloaded the 300 Monster Challenge Event by Arenciel but I did not enable it in my server yet because I feel that I missed a lot of the steps given in the readme file that came with it from Arenciel.

I already remake my "map_chache" with the new maps for the event in it, I already have updated the "quest_db" as well as the "map_index". All mentioned above are done successfully and I'm confident that I did em right.

MY problem is the Client-Side stuff.

The file came with a "data" directory which contains [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], mapnametable.txt, questid2display.txt and resnametable.txt. The question in my head is;

Where do I exactly put these files? From what I understand in the readme.txt file, I need to put it all together to the basic "data" folder, does it mean that I'm putting it to "Ragnarok Online\data"? or create a grf patch put it in data.grf?

If data the answer is to put it in "Ragnarok Online\data", so it means I need to zip a new game installer and update the uploaded installer in my site's download section and players need to redownload my server's installer before the quest can be played?

Is there a way that I can just create a patch for it so the players can patch it in their patchers? If there's a way, how do I point the files to the "Ragnarok Online\data" folder? I apologize I new to this server thing, I'd really like to put that wonderful event by Arenciel in my server. I hope that I will be able to successfully despite of me being so noob about these stuff as of the moment. :)

Hope you guys can help me. I run the server alone so far so good, I was able to add lots of updates/npcs and fixes for the server, players are happy, of course with your guys help and there's really a lot more to learn I'm not sure if I can handle em all, I am really so fresh with this thing. ;)

Heaps of things to everyone, thank you for reading my long but yet a simple question.

Best regards

They need to be placed inside your data folder, which is located where you installed RO.

- Do you use a .grf for your server?

- Do you already have a patcher set-up?

If you have a patcher, you can just put into a gpf and the patcher should place it into your server's grf...assuming you have one.

Arcenciel,

Yes I already have a patcher setup and it's working fine. I am using the Jikari's one. In my config.ini I do have;

1 = myservername.grf

2 = data.grf

So those file should be fine then if I load them in #2? It doesn't need to be loaded in the data folder (Ragnarok Onlinedata)? I can make the data folder the came with the download a GRF then? ^^

Thanks.

You need to make a patch (.gpf file) for your server's grf and send it via Jikari.

i don't recommend touching data.grf because that's where the official stuff are in. So put them in your server's grf.

I can do that, but I noticed though. All stuff I put in myserver.grf doesn't seem to take effect even if they patched fine. Like I downloaded the dark_prontera map, tried putting it in to myserver.grf but it didn't worked. I tried putting it to data.grf it worked but kinda took long repacking though. I'm afraid that will happen with the map im about to add for the 300 monster challenge. Why is that? Is there something I've been missing Arce? ^^ Oh btw, I can't use .gpf in my patchlist.txt, I get an Invalid GRF error on my patcher. When I change the file extension of the patchers in patchlist.txt to .grf it patches fine. Pretty confusing, the guide says I can use .gpf but I just can't.

No idea how to solve your not reading grf problem. Someone else has to come in for that.

I suggest you use another patcher instead of Jikari.
