Hey, guys. So it seems every itemInfo.lua I download is wracked with errors. Mostly unfinished strings and erroneous characters. Does anyone know where I can find an english version that does not have this problem? I'd hate to go through hundreds of thousands of lines of code fixing all this unfinished strings. Any help would be appreciated.

Attached is an example of what I mean. All the red circles highlight the strings that are missing closing parenthesis. There are literally thousands.

I've managed to fix my problem with these steps :

  1. Disable encode guessing on notepad++ ( Setting -> Preferences -> MISC, uncheck 'autodetect character encoding')5a236b1d08e85_notepad_2017-12-03_10-10-35.thumb.png.6c4d971dc22dacc1f1db2f168b7d4f73.png
  2. Get new clean iteminfo.lua
  3. Open it with notepad++ (remember to disable autodetect character encoding first)
  4. Put ur custom item there (Do not use korean / japanese / non-ansi character / letter on custom items)
  5. Save
  6. Give it a try.

FYI, i'm currently using notepad++ v.7.5.1 (32-bit), and my client settings is iteminfo.lua loaded from outside the grf file(s).

From where you got translated iteminfo?

It's encoding problem on your pc/text editor or even the downloader that convert that file into wrong encoding I presume.

Try using this

Clone it to your pc, don't use download button.

Yes, this is where I got it, I -did- use the download button though so that's probably where I went wrong. I'll see if a 1:1 works.

Edit: The clone -did- successfully download, but it would seem that my GRF is not directly compatible with this. Is there one that goes with this specific translation?

I tried using GRF editor with this itemInfo as well, but it keeps turning all my items invisible accept for my custom ones. I'm at a loss.
