So your first problem is that Novice doesn't equip books and therefor a book weapon sprite doesn't naturally exist.

If this weapon item placement is intentional and you are meaning to create a book that even a Novice can wear, then you need to fill the clientside void of the lacking resource file(s).

Which can be done a few ways;

1. Copying and renaming an existing weapon sprite.
2. Copying an existing weapon sprite but making it blank.
3. Finding someone to make a book weapon sprite for your book weapon.
