Greetings! When a character that has transcended (earning the bonus 100 stat points) resets their stats, they are not rewarded with the 100 bonus stat points again. Is this how the reset NPC is supposed to behave or will simply changing use_statpoint_table to no work for this issue? I ask because players can not purchase/sell stat points so I am unsure if the fix will fix my issue as well.

I know when setting up a client I'm supposed to edit the packet version in here yet it's completely empty when I open it up. Any ideas?

Newbie question, ahoy! Unfortunately, I'm the type of person who needs, clear concise directions and I'm still having a bit of trouble regarding this step of the client creation process. I already have kRO and my own 22-11-2011 client diffed using Shin's DiffPatcher. And I believe creating a data folder is the next step. Every guide I've seen makes the jump from creating a data folder to using GRF Builder in order to make a new data.grf file. However, I'm not 100% clear on what it is I need inside the data folder. Since this is never mentioned I can't help but feel it's something terribly obvious and I'm making it too complicated? Either way I would appreciate any and all help regarding this issue.

I've played RO for the past seven years. I'm not trying to PLAY; I'm attempting to create my own private server. I don't see how, just because I'm confused on what it is I'm supposed to be doing, means I've apparently never played RO before. As I said before, whenever someone asks about setting up a client they get linked to the Ragexe files and told to use Shin's Diff Patcher. I'm here asking for what the other steps are since there is (obviously) way more that I'm missing.

Yeah, definitely not trolling. I'm new to all this. And as I said before there seems to be no 100% completed guide for setting up a client. Everything I've seen just talks about obtaining a client, and using Shin's Diff Patcher. The rA wiki is unfortunately lacking in this subject. It's great for server-side stuff but isn't very complete when it comes to client stuff.

All the guides and forum topics I've read mention obtaining a client then using Shin's Diff Patcher in order to hex the client. I use the diff patcher successfully and without error. I end up with a '2011-11-22aRagexeRE.exe.patched.exe' inside a folder I created. When I first went to run the .exe I received a few .dll errors so I downloaded the proper .dll files and placed them into the folder with the .exe. The next time I went to run the .exe a DATA.INI file is spawned followed by nothing. However when I open the Task Manager it shows the .exe running in the background. I see that several forum topics mentioned needing to edit clientinfo.xml inside the data folder but as you can see I don't have a data folder or a data.grf. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Absolutely! I'll likely include a Job Change NPC for those who do not wish to quest but I definitely plan on leaving those quests intact. I personally prefer questing over bashing things in the face so I'll be sure to have quest experience for EXP Quests at a higher rate than default as well.

Well, it's only in the planning stages currently so my details are very limited. I can tell you that it will definitely be a lower mid-rate, between 30 - 50 exp rates. I also warn that I'm not a huge fan of "spoiling" players like most high rates do. (Obviously if a suggestion is made to change something and that suggestion has a lot of support I'll consider it.) For example, I'm all for Warpers but I feel that the dungeons requiring quests in order to access them should be quested. (Though I will likely have the Rachel Sanctuary donations all paid off, that's a bit too extreme for a new server.) I would also like it to be Renewal (I'm well aware that Renewal is far from complete currently) and feature the 3rd Jobs. Note: Nothing is set in stone, however.

I've been playing Ragnarok Online private servers since late 2005. During my lengthy time as a player, I've become so picky regarding my private server needs/interests, my only hope of finding a server I can truly call home is to run one myself. That being said, I'm very aware that running ones own server is not all fun and games; it requires a lot of (sometimes unrewarding) hard work and unwavering dedication. I'm also not planning on rushing head-first into getting my own server up and running. I still have much to learn (luckily I have a few seasoned, private server owners to provide me with assistance when and where I need it) and I plan on taking my time so that I can provide my eventual community and player-base with a successful and well-maintained server.
