I know there is a wiki that helps with installation but it lacks a couple of things.
1) what is the process for installing the client?
is it IRO, kRO, are there any links?
do I need the data folder?
            which v2 v3 v4? links?
2) Are the english translations server-side or client-side? (items are all in korean when I connect to my rAthena server.)
How to get them and whats the process?

Hi longlostbro,

The WIKI's installation guide is for setting up the emulator, not the client-side. rAthena does not contribute in developing client-side, that'd be illegal (I think) if they did.

Please check the Client-side support section, they have pinned topics for what you are looking for.

hey,

that's right. just telling you, hosting a rAthena based Ragnarok Online server is Legal. rAthena's source code are made from a pretty fresh start and is made to be opensource.

Using the Ragnarok Client, diffing custom clients, editing, adding, removing things from / to the original Ragnarok Client (whose parent is Korean RO (kRO)) is illegal. that is why Wiki does not support that section.

Wow! Really? Then is there any way to use the english Iro client with rAthena? Would that make it legal?

there is. simply get the iRO client and put your custom client on the iRO root folder and use it. and still, it is illegal. If you would like to make it legal, then you will need to re-make everything from 0 or get the source that is opensource. (which is impossible)/

then that means rAthena is illegal since it requires a client to test it...

no, it doesn't mean so.

it's just the same as:

Using BitTorrent / uTorrent is legal. downloading the file isn't.
