Asura
Hi kangfredy, Protimus is definitely right. But I'll be more specific... please back up all your MySQL databases before attempting to do this. yum -y remove mysql* rpm -Uvh http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/5/i386/epel-release-5-4.noarch.rpm rpm -Uvh http://rpms.famillecollet.com/enterprise/remi-release-5.rpm yum --enablerepo=remi -y install mysql mysql-server mysql-devel chkconfig --levels 235 mysqld on mysql_secure_installation

Protimus
First you need remove all mysql packages and dependencies, after you will install a new version of mysql via other yum repository create by CentOS users, like remi-repo. Use "yum remove" to remove old rpms or "rpm -e" command, afeter remove the packages you will be able to install a remi-repo.
