I was planning on getting a new desktop but I need help and suggestion about what kind of parts should I choose.

The Desktop would run

window XP

but I was wondering about the processor, motherboard and ram that would do best to run ragnarok?

Not server but client.

Just to run a client? You can use iRO's system requirements because its pretty much universal: https://support.warpportal.com/KB/a111/can-my-pc-handle-ragnarok-online-system-requirements.aspx

I would want something between Gravity's minimum specs and "Processor: i7, Video Card: Sapphire HD".

/ok

Well if you want to qualities that i7 have but a little low cost, try this.

Intel Core i3-2120 3.3GHz

Asus P8H61

4GB RAM

1GB or 2GB Video Card(I suggest NVIDIA)

1TB HDD

Well if you want, go buy a LED Monitor 19' or more.

HAHAHA /heh

To run RO, you don't need much. I would recommend using an AMD processor for a budget-performance build with a Radeon video card.

You want a recommendation on the processor, motherboard and ram.

Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 965

- Run you around $99.99 and is fantastic for gaming. Beats the AMD FX 8150 when overclocked.

Motherboard: Several of them..

1. ASRock 970 EXTREME3 AM3+ ($99 and is loaded with great features)

2. GIGABYTE GA-970A-D3 AM3+ AMD 97 ($99)

RAM:

If its RO and Windows XP, you really don't need more than 2 GB of RAM. However, RAM is cheap and you can get 4 GB for like $25-$30.

E.g) G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB Clocked @ 1600 MHz DDR3 will run around $26.99 (US tho)

Video Card:

RO really has low requirements for graphics but I wouid go with a nice cheap & cost efficient card. Something like a Radeon 6670 would do just fine and costs around $70.

http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814102988 (Sapphire)

http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814125403 (Gigabyte)

http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814127666 (MSI)

So with everything, you're looking at a $400 to $500 build once you accompany the case, power supply, & hard drive as well. This build will allow you to play more graphic intensive games as well but keep in mind, you get what you pay for.

Thanks for providing suggestion over how I should choose now I can use my hard earn money to buy one PC...

What about the cooling option is it really require since weather here are usually rainy and sunny (tropical country).

How long should I keep PC up and running then put it to a rest and start running again?

If the room the computer is stationed in is well ventilated, you shouldn't have a problem keeping it on (24/7). If you plan on saving on your electrical bill, turn it off when you go to bed. To keep the PC cool it depends on the design of the case, and choice of cooling on the CPU itself. Air cooling should be fine as this isn't a high budget build so you could stick with the stock fan the CPU comes with or invest in a $20-30 dollar fan (ensure its compatible with socket AM3). IMO, I would invest the money in a better fan for the CPU.
