I wanted to make an custom headgear sprite. The first three frames converted perfectly in 256bmp, but the last two always save in 16bmp instead of 256...

I'm using GIMP, does someone have a solution? :c

I know this post is very old and I hope anyone needs a solution for this:

Step by step guide:

  1. Import a bmp sprite file into GIMP
  2. Save as PNG (Not sure if anything else will work, but this is the way it works for sure)
  3. Import the PNG to Photoshop (I think you can use the free one that's 10 years old)
  4. Now if Image->Mode->Indexed Color is checked, leave it like it is (Don't change anything)
  5. File->Save As->BMP
  6. Use SPR Conview BMP->SPR
