0 Judas
i don't think there is much, if you are worried about that, then i guess don't release it
0 Z3R0
agreed... unless you build the template on your server side, and that's the only way they can use it... in which case, it would be a lot more complicated... just put it there and pray for the best, unfortunately with free-ware, unless you are going to check EVERY site on the net, you will not know who has and hasn't used your template with your credits... 0 Pneuma
My suggestion, put a watermark of your credits on everything. pictures, logos, background....I do some kind of watermark on all of my work, even if you cant see it, I know exactly where it is. 0 ragnazorg
add something in the code (some random letters or whatever that looks like a legit /official code) that is needed for the website.
0 Aurora
Pretty much what was said before, it's almost impossible to idiot-proof your work, aside from making it clear that it is yours and they are not permitted to edit it, but there's nothing that you can actually do to physically stop them. As Judas said, if that's what you're worried about, then I wouldn't release it.
0 Xtremist
Theres nothing you can do to stop it, I have seen some of my noob templates waving around and I couldn't do anything... But it doesn't matter for me as long as people know that it is yours and they have faith in you.
0 JayPee
put a code when they erase your name, all the content of the database will be automatically delete so that they will be afraid to remove your name...... just kidding
0 Diconfrost VaNz
make something that if they remove or edit the credits, the whole code will not work properly...i saw some of the free templates done with that kind of code
0 Yuki
^ That's possible. You can make functions call each other where if you remove this specific wording/coding away, the page no longer works (you can do this for the image, but people can easily just rename an image and match that). Better to do it in words when it comes to keeping credits like this. Some people may feel that designers use too big of logos representing themselves when it comes to free designs. So, I would suggest implementing a smaller logo and just add a small line of words at the bottom saying the design is by you.
