As developers, admins and game masters, we've all had to deal with bots and exploiters. Over these decades we've come up with many solutions in order to try and fight back this menace.

What I'd like to ask today is: which solutions are the most appropriate and all encompassing in modern times? Which ones worked for you? Which ones were useless or failures? Which ones would you say are absolutely essential?

For this topic I mean everything. Anti-bot shields, scripts, encryption, obfuscation, literally anything to stop tampering and automation.

Furthermore, there's also the issue of account sharing. No matter how much you warn players, they still do it. Any suggestions on encouraging players to keep their credentials private?

About bots/automation and client side encryption you should probably use Gepard its highly recommended and use GRF Editor and use the encryption function. About exploits you will have to test your scripts and source modifications many times in almost all possibilities and ask players about feedback, many are willing to help while others keep it as a secret and for their advantages.

About account sharing, there is nothing you can do about it. Almost every game you play will probably tell you not to share your account/credentials and its their fault for sharing it.

Please contact Functor here first because if you search Functor on skype there are many idiots who use his name for the sake of scamming people.

The effective way is to have your own packet algo dynamic encryption, encryption should change every x counter, now when you made it create a heart beat packet that client will respond to when asked by server.  See its not really easy so it cant be cheap^^
