I'd avoid any kind of host that is targeted towards RO servers specifically, they are all pretty unreliable and most of them are pretty sketchy and have been known to sell off server data.

I'd highly recommend OVH.

Digital Ocean works as well. Avoid RO Hostings.

1. They'll have access to your server files
2. They'll have access to your database (passwords, etc)
3. They pretty much charge way more than a regular VPS Cloud

The only time you'd want to take RO Hostings is

1. You have no clue what you're doing
2. You don't care about server security
3. You want quick and easy set up for a quick cash grab RO server /$

Well in my own experience here at pony vps for almost 5 years, 9/10 if i will rate it, i feel bad for your 5 friend who experienced that (Y) but for me are all smooth.

a little question on google cloud, was it the free cloud service should I use or should I pay for a larger data allocation? is google cloud can handle DDoS attacks?

Google Cloud (VPS) gives you 1 year of free hosting, or $ 300 of traffic.
If you configure the machine correctly, you can run your server quietly without requiring a lot of resources.
My server runs for 2 to 3 months free of charge, when it is about to exceed the limit I create another account lol

The only problem is that you must know how to configure the firewall of the vps.
Other than that, the server runs perfectly, without lag, without crashes, without problems.
I use the hosting for 3 years and it never goes down because of DDoS, their network is extremely safe and reliable, I recommend.

Even when exceeding the free trial, it is only worth paying for the services.
For Brazilians it costs an average of R $ 300, in dollars it should be something close to $ 55
It's a great price for the quality.

Thank you for your kind tip!

I have a little knowledge about setting up firewalls.
are you using proxies for your server?
Question again, what if I exceed the limit will am I forced?
Another question, which instances should I choose for RO? what is the best?

Although the hosting is secure, I use some proxies on my server.
In addition to national players, I have players from other parts of the world.
So it's good to have several proxies for players to be happy with ping hahahha

When the accommodation ends the trial period, your credit card is automatically charged.
I use a virtual credit card to register the account, then I delete it.
Sometimes I forget to turn off the VPS and charge me 😞 I accidentally lost money
If you don't pay for the hosting, they block your access until you pay for it.

When creating instances, always use Centos7

If you know the basics of Google Cloud VPS I can give you firewall commands.
The firewall is not too difficult, I can teach you 🙂

You are from which country?

I think I will not have a problem when it comes to your guide in firewall, but apparently proxies sounds new to me lol
I am from PH, planning to make server very very soon that's why I am conducting my research on the new features as well as good hosting.
Q>how much would they charge you if you exceed?

They do not charge for the use of network or hosting, it is monthly.
You only start paying if you end the trial period, 12 months or $ 300.00 of credit.

I usually configure the server with 600mb to 1.5gb of memory.
It is enough to hold 100 to 500 players online (using ssd)

If your server has many systems, events, etc., use more memory than the conventional one.
If your server "crashes" because of memory your server may crash. It's hard to happen, but it can happen lol

In Brazil (my country) they charge R$ 300. In dollars it should be around $ 55.
I think that multiplying $ 55 x your currency should give you an approximate value.

I'll send you the proxy settings, it's very simple.
We can continue the conversation privately if necessary.

Hello, Gladius! Would you be kind enough to send me your firewall and proxy configurations? I'm also learning how to use the Google Cloud VPS and so far I've been able to run everything smoothly. Except that I have absolutely no idea how my server will hold up against a DDoS attack. /swt

Hello Gladius, I am also interested because I distrust the hosts for fear that they will sell my emulator, as it happened with some hosts that I am not going to mention, can you teach me how to use google cloud vps?

OVH, DigitalOcean, Vultr, etc... Good Options

But in my opinion the best choice is this contabo.com price/quality (I have been with them for 6 months and no problems) Support excelent

You should, with proof. It's my job to do what I can to shield our users from fraudulent behaviour, but I can't do that if facts are being kept hidden.

firewall and proxy guide

Firewall: You can easily google for instructions on how to manage your firewall.

Proxy: There is literally no reason to setup a proxy server for RO. Unless you own your own hardware and pay for private networking, your packets aren't actually travelling any faster. This is a con, invented by money-grubbing idiots.
