difference between PRERE and RENEWAL

hello community,

i'am wondering for new description in ragnarok.
i was programming since ragnarok is born, after a few years i stopped.
now i'am back again and loading rathena source master.
in every description i see the words PRERE or PRERE EMULATOR and RENEWAL or RENEWAL_EMULATOR.

when i loading source master branch latest from rathena main github, what is it?

renewal? prere?

whats the difference?

around the year 2004 it was easy to load and patch client kro/sakray and logon to server.

but maybe some problems from client patch comes with problem PRERE or RENEWAL.

if i know the difference, maybe patch working.

The main difference is the formulas of skill, delay, attack, etc.
After the renovation, the emulator was divided between PRE-RE and RE.
