Help to change skill damage SRC File problems

Hello, i was trying to change my skill damage but when i change  src/map/battle.cpp nothing happen, well everything related to src file when i modify something nothing happen for example, src/config/core.hpp  i can´t increase my account slots or activate VIP. Anyone can help me to fix it? Thanks for help

Download Microsoft Visual Studio 2015
Open rAthena.sln at the emulator folder
Build> Build solution (first time)
Build> Rebuild solution after.

any guide ? because i can change damage numbers but i dont know who to save changes and apply it in my game. thanks a lot
