Compile on Linux mysql not in default directory

Hello, i have a little problem here. In my server since i have the data partition outside the root partition "/"  I moved Mysql to the data partition... so now its not in the default location of CentOS,

when i do ./configure i get error that cant find mysql. how can i tell the ./configure where to look for the mysql ??
