How to change server time? please help me.

-sh: /usr/share/zoneinfo/Hongkong: Permission denied

always permission denied.. i spent 2 hours to change server time. please help me.. GODBLESS

sudo ln -sf /etc/localtime /usr/share/zoneinfo/Hongkong ?

Try setting it like this..

date --set="2 OCT 2006 18:00:00"

i try to put it. but permission denied again? what would i do?

if its denied... try to run it using sudo

or ask your host..it's a very easy to-do thing on a vps

root@juanro:~# cp /usr/share/zoneinfo/Asia/Manila /etc/localtime
