I wasn't able to get 2014 clients running.
02-05 times out when connecting to the char server. char server doesn't give any response.
Yet the 10-22 crashes right after trying to log in. So it's not even able to send anything to the login server,

Ok...
Ones upon a few years, i see myself forced to update the client of course.However every single ******* time it's the same ********.
So please, is anyone out there with some great advice, help and kindness?
I mean, it's quite simple.
I try to avoid it as long as i can, BUT when i finally decided to update it, i want to be as up to date as possible.
I saw that rAthena recently implemented 2014 client support.
So i gave it a shot, and failed hard as always.I've searched myself through the whole wide web, including hercules.
But there's no real answer to all my questions.
I've tested
2014-02-05b (set to db ver 46 if i got that correct)
2014-10-162014-02-05b, is able connect to the login server, but char server times out on the client, (no response on char server at all)
2014-10-16 crashes right after entering login information (no error message)
So please anyone.
I need information on:
Most up to date, stable and usable client for live environment.
Every single hint on all those freaking bugs and traps i'm about to fall in. (broken diffs, broken ingame features etc...)I'm getting to old for this... /sigh -
I've tested now over 20 different variations to reduce the output damage of gate of hell.
with no success.
no matter what i freaking change in the source code, the damage is always the same.
Only one time when i've messed with the sstatus->max_hp, i've managed to go over 999999999 dmg per hit.
Could please someone support kitty14 and me with this case?
I've never had such issues before unless with this skill.
Currently gate of hell does mostly a one hit, or needs to be casted about max 3 times to kill any player. (server with 200 max stats which allows higher max HP)
I've had balanced gate of hell before within the skill.c back then, when i was able to simply set a max cap on the skillratio.
But now, since the code has been rewritten and moved to battle.c, i can't manage to reduce it's damage anymore. -
Well, but in diablo you're able to either create a normal, or a hardcore character.
They are not related to each other at all!
Which means, you can't trade any items nor store any items from a normal to a hardcore character.
And any other progress is also NOT shared.Which in the end, would make much sense if you're willing to have both "normal and HC"
Because if a hardcore char dies in Diablo, all items and char progress itself is completly lost forever.The only thing that stays are your achievements.
So you would have to decide, wheter or not a dead char shall be able to use storage by command or whatever... to save their items.

Is there any way to reload the const.txt db file without to restart the server?
I've tried all reload commands but const.txt does not seem to be included somewhere.

You would have to hex the client for such a change.
It's possible yes, however the old "adjust font size" diff is no more available.
So if you want to realize that, search for someone who has experience with hexing.
To make it easier, search the old adjust font size diff from the older clients, and send that to the person who will hex it for you.

I've seen about 2 other people with the same issue, but they've neither recieved a good answer, nor any real help.
Does anyone know a solution to this problem?

I'm having this issue actually since over 5 years.
My TipOfTheDay is not triggered even when the checkbock is checked to show up on startup.
Also The TipOfTheDay does not show any info, it's just an empty window, even when my tipoftheday file is correctly configured.Tried also all different file names such as
tipOfTheDay.txt
tipOfTheDay_e.txt
tipOfTheDay_j.txt
tipOfDay.txt
And i'm having now the same issue with the GuildTip.exe file
Can anyone give me advice on this one?
I wasn't able to find anything related to this issue when using the search function.
Currently using 2012-04-18aRagexeRE
But i've had the same issue also with much much older clients.
Both files are located in the main folder of my RO installation.

Weil du die fallsche setup.exe file verwendest.
Da hat sich einiges geändert, es kommt ganz auf die version deines Clients drauf an.Falls du einen neueren verwenden solltest, dann liest dieser Client die Settings nicht mehr aus der Windows Registry sondern aus einfach Lua files.
RO/savedata/OptionInfo.luaNun brauchst du auch eine neue Setup.exe file die diese Settings auch neu da rein speichert. Entweder den neuen offiziellen. (Ghostring als Icon)

I had a hard time today getting my custom items to work with my new client using 2012-04-18aRagexeRE.
First thing i was wondering, why i would have to edit the
System/kroption.lub
for editing items, rather than the itemInfo.lub ???
That's weird...
And then there's the view id limit.
I was using view ids starting from 1800
It would be great if i could increase this limit, but there's no diff available using the WeeDiffGenerator.
Could you guys help me out to find the hex and diff it manually?

I made detailed reports since the release of this patcher, also was in contact with her through PMs.
But, the patcher is really a mess now.
The patcher became better and better, until the day when they've started to rewrite the whole code 2 times.
It's really no fun to retest everything and just see that 80% of all reported bugs/improvements are just gone.
All the last releases are really not working at all, the patcher does not connect, nor patch or do anything at all.
I'm trying to give constructive feedback and reports.
But it's hard to do if nothing works anymore since about v2.4.
And i repeat to Tiera:
It would be great to see your setup, maybe it's just caused due lack of information and missing files.
It would also be great to see some answers on my questions.

Tested the latest version. (3.1.0)
Still: Completly unusable/broken/not patching anything.
1. patcher does never ever connect to the FTP server, no matter what (however there are 0 error messages)
2. patcher never saves nor reads the progress file.
3. patcher doesn't seem to read the patch list file at all. not sure though
4. crc check/update doesn't work. probably also not even reading the update.ini?
5. What's up with these settings.kpf and skin.kpf file which are being created when embedding the settings? Ca we ignore them?
6. Links from the browser are nomore opened by your default browser in a new window. (that was implemented way back after a request of mine)
7. Skin setting "hover" for buttons seems to be broken. The patcher always shows the official skin when mouse over a button.
8. Mainly there are so much things that have been removed or are simply hidden, like color settings for skin stuff etc...
9. There's no PatcherData folder nor any explanation on how to set it up. Should it be automatically created or what? What about the skin?
10. plist.plt is missing an example, no one has an idea on how to set their patches.
This update made no noticable changes unless some new settings.
Tiera, do you ever test your releases?
If yes, it would be great to see your setup, maybe it's just caused due lack of information and missing files.
It would also be great to see some answers on my questions.

Even if you set it up correctly, it doesn't download / patch nor connect at all.
It's somewhat messy right now.
But you could still use an older version.
However, i'm waiting for Tiera to release a new fixed version.
But she's not replying anymore again...

I would love to test it further until all bugs are fixed.

Just noticed that my login server disconnects me again RIGHT AFTER a successfull login.
Anyone knows what's wrong here?
