  1. Ah alright, thanks! My map is in the testing phase now, singling out the little things I've missed and patching, re-patching,patching again!
  2. So how is school going? Finally done with it yet? :)

    1. Syouji

      Syouji

      Yep~ Nearly done ^_^

  3. No, this happened prior to the fixing of the issue. This is what CAUSED me to have to fix the issue, see what I mean? I did not put those sprites under the map, nor did I lower my lights or effects, or raise the map. I'm asking if that happens very often
  4. Yeah, turns out all my sprites and a bunch of effects/lights had been dropped below water level somehow , along with the bottom areas of some "ditches".. Is that a common occurrence when saving a map?
  5. Make the "Rejected xxxx" forums invisible to normal user groups, cleans a bit of clutter off of the forums index.
  6. Ah, I'm using r620. I'll grab that one. So it's caused by models under the floor, or something? (My water level was already -20.) Oh, lovely. I've been hunting through non-translated model packs, while there's been an english translation this whole time. Le-sigh. -Edit, maybe this was the issue? I have not the slightest idea how they got down there, but I did notice them missing from the field.
  7. The black textures are back. I was told that I could hex the .rsw file in order to repair it, or at least hide the textures, but I'm unsure of the process, and am also unaware of any better alternatives. You fixed it before fairly quickly so I assume it's simple, but don't want to go ruining my map files So, let me know I also wonder, what causes it? I added a few .gat slopes, a bunch of tables and stools, and a couple of simple effects and lights.. Want me to shoot you the map files? I'd like to know so I can avoid/repair it in the future.
  8. Indeed, unfortunately the costs usually cut deeply into the "enjoyment", especially if the server population reaches certain levels
  9. Now that you mention it, I do not see ANY lights in Hugel. Ask one of the creators of the threads I listed above, they will know far more than I do.
  10. You can delete this topic whenever you feel like, it's a waste of space xD
  11. I sent it, you can basically see what I am aiming for with the .gat already in place, the problem is that the non-sniping/nonwalkable .gat (purple) are in fact walkable. In addition, objects are not "walkable", and can be phased through. And yeah, I actually learned how to use B.E through your videos, albeit not through the rAthena boards, just via google. You're the number one video result when you look up "Browedit Tutorial". - Edit Thanks for the assistance man, I'll use what you showed me to finish it up, and post a Showcase when I'm done. Not sure if I'll feel comfortable showing off my horrible skills, though
  12. I've run into a bit of a snag. (By the way, your tutorials are awesome!) I've got my map fully prepped for gat and lighting, and in fact lighting is done, but there's an issue with the default .gat textures. I can place walkable .gat textures, but none of the others will apply. I can post a video of the issue if you like, but I'm at a standstill until I figure this out. In addition, Objects are not solid, and can be phased through. (Walk through chairs instead of onto them) Any ideas on what I should do? I assume it has to do with Gat height, but Browedit likes to crash if you look at it wrong, as you know.
  13. Check out http://rathena.org/b...utorial-videos/ and http://rathena.org/b...e-for-browedit/ Both tutorials are quite in-depth.
  14. It was the spaces in front of the line I mentioned... Indeed it was. In addition to another duplicate map entry. That's what I get for fiddling with the server whilst half-asleep. Thanks -Solved-
  15. I stay with dedicated private servers mostly because of the investment security. If I play on a private server, I support it. It's only right. When I see the economy of a large/medium sized private server start to wobble, or crash, I begin looking for a new home. (As I am now.) After economic imbalances, you will usually notice 1 or 2 guilds begin to run the server, due to the recent economic fluctuations. Kind of like the great depression. Also, when a server has staff members that are constantly corrupt/unprofessional, I think twice about the viability of long-term play on said server. Other things that can influence me are: Server community - all servers have the nice guys, and the means ones.. but when nothing is done about flaming/harassment, it shows a lack of dedication to player environments. Update frequency: I understand when an Admin goes out of town, or there is no update for a month. But when it goes beyond that, it implies the server staff has lost enthusiasm. That's never a good sign.
  16. I used weemapcache, and it still gives me the following error. I used WMC to add the map into the cache, as you can see here. -Edit, I have fixed the map removal errors by hunting down duplicate entries in my maps_athena file, but the map is still not accessible. I'll post here when I resolve the issue, to help with any duplicate issues, Mapindex_name2id: Map not found So far I have: Added the map to maps_Athena at the bottom of the list, using no spaces. Added the map to map_index under my custom maps Added the map (And an RSW path) to mapindex in my src folder Recompiled my mapcache manually and with weecache, the map is loading into the server now, and is being cached... why is it not accessible in-game? I just warp to prontera when I try to @go to it. I'm about to just ask someone to test the dratted thing for me... this is getting ridiculous. I have made progress though, I've eliminated the map removal errors when starting my map server. They were caused by duplicate map entires in maps_athena.
  17. Sigh. This can be deleted, then.. hah. That guide is much more comprehensive, thanks
  18. What's annoying me the most is this is just a TEST server. I just need to test my @!#!@ map before I can have it patched in here are my maps_athena contents...
  19. 2306. Only 997,697 to go!
  20. Okay, I followed this guide, albeit the eAthena version (I was unaware of the rAtnea branch ) , and when I recompile my mapcache)After deleting the mapcachedb), it reads nothing from the GRF. When I start my map server, it removes the custom map I'm trying to add. I've checked and double checked the mapnametable and the Map index, and nothing is awry as far as I can tell. I need to get into the map to test it, but I've been run in circles by my map server. Am I doing something wrong? I'll post my map index and name tables when I get up later today, but in case it's something trivial, or a common issue, I decided to post early. (My client is fully set up, and my GRF files are set correctly. Everything functions fine, except this one map.)
