  1. It's just sad how you can vote multiple times through different browsers as well. They really should look into these problems and make it all fair haha. Did my share of voting =D! 42% RO to 58% Mab right now.
  2. Happy New Year to everyone! -From Canada
  3. There are also other Prontera Christmas versions in the download section. You can also refer to this thread here: http://rathena.org/board/topic/73389-christmas-maps/?hl=%2Bchristmas+%2Btown
  4. It has been uploaded for a while: http://rathena.org/board/files/file/2991-green-fluxcp-theme/ Great job with the website!
  5. Though it seems that someone bought it for that price. Personally, it does seem too simple and bland for my taste, but you managed to code the site (I can't even do that) - Good job on that! You might want to switch up the colours a bit since it's mostly blue. Just saw that you switched the price for $80 XD.
  6. If no one is doing it, you probably should refer to a Paid Service thread. Some people offer to have a coded one for ~$15-20 while others cost higher.

    Hi Guise!

I got Steam games just this late December, and ever since then, I'm a Steam player Got several games on sale - I mostly enjoy Borderlands 2 <3, Left 4 Dead 2, Trine 1/2, a bit of Torchlight 2, etc. As for console games, I stopped playing them D: though I guess I was pretty good at Super Smash Brothers (Gamecube and Wii), Mario Kart Double Dash (Gamecube), Left 4 Dead series (Xbox 360), Resident Evil 5 (Xbox 360), and some others. I got Xbox 360 (and another with Kinect), PS3, Wii, Gamecube, PSP/GO/Vita, Nintendo DS/XL/Lite/3DS, Gameboy Advance/SP, and so on lol. But now, my sister is the one who plays with them haha. PC is much more convenient~ Better controls for me as well =D. PS. I really want Kingdom Hearts games <3! Waiting for 1.5~ I don't really want to get PS4... But Kingdom Hearts 3 is on it =/. Outside of gaming, I have to study of course . I also like to deal with websites, forums, etc. There's always volunteer work as well (helping at the senior home, my youth charity group [Registered as a government-recognized charity this year, yay!], my community group, and so forth). Okay, I guess that's enough of my life story~
  8. I guess this is more specific as you can talk to the people on your friend list and not everyone who joins the server's IRC in comparison~ Also, he's suggesting to have it as a cell phone app as well. It'll be interesting to have the program show all online friends from various servers (submit the same account information of this program for each game server account, like putting a registered code or something along that line), but that seems quite complicated to do XD.
  9. It can be similar to how Steam is (Well, it reminds me of the Steam friend chat system haha). It sounds like a very interesting idea, and if it's made possible, it will be a wonderful alternative for players as a means of communication (if players do not want to provide personal addresses, Skype, Facebook, etc to other players until they know each other better)~
  10. Just wanted to say that the Awards page is not working for me as well. Maybe only staff members can see it?
  11. Any developer interested in teaming up?

Thank you for your interest =D! Replied~

  12. I guess that would work as well, though having the PSDs can still prove the buyer purchased the work. You get the content that you paid for (and that's why it is important to list terms ahead of time as a designer if you will provide PSDs or not. Most people here would assume you get PSDs if you are getting exclusive content made, especially for larger designs such as websites, splash pages, etc). Anyways, the artist themselves will have the PSD as well, and if needed, timestamps can be kept, taking pictures of previews and messages sent/replied between designer and buyer, and so on. There are ways to prove you are the original artist even if the PSD is provided. And I can say, most buyers would like to have the PSDs (not just for the sole reason that they are the original buyers - for editing's sake regarding buttons, etc). Some buyers want to use the same/similar designs for two or more servers (have seen that before) and need to make the appropriate changes to the design. So, the artist should mention ahead of time if this is allowed or not, or else buyers would assume they can since they are the ones who bought the designs (while leaving the credit of course ;D). As for the invoice, it depends on what name the designer uses (if it is his/her real name, it may be harder to deal with this unless the designer has revealed his/her full name somewhere). There are some people in the world who would have the same names as well~ Furthermore, names can be made up easily with Paypal, etc - still doesn't feel like real evidence, especially when it comes to the RO scene. There have been fraud cases after all, noted with YHMWHY as an example (people trying to copy their names, and whatnot). But of course, that's the buyer's fault if he/she is not careful about the purchases. [You can easily create an account that mentions the designer's name, etc, thus rendering invoices and contracts useless unless the designer has posted somewhere about details of their payment account. But for some/most cases, the designer would mention that in PMs and not in the public for viewing, such as their Paypal account email in particular. This is a true example.] And, having an invoice as proof isn't necessarily good if you're dealing with RO designs XD... since we are dealing with private game server-related content. But, this is getting too much into the legality area. All in all, it's up to the artist to decide on his/her course of action - and the group of potential buyers will also differ depending on the terms. Edit: Sorry for the spam, I am high on Soy Milk.

Oh, that's a bit strange... Maybe post in another section? You may need a post count before you change your avatar? I'm not too sure XD. Or, PM a staff member to help you out here ;D if you need a faster answer!
  14. That's a good point you brought up, DevilEvil, but I guess it's the same for the buyer - if someone rips off the design, the buyer would like to say that they are the ones to buy it first. Of course, the designer can help say that, but some designers disappear from the RO scene... Several of them already did while taking some money away without fulfilling their terms >< (not talking about the thread starter since he's professional with his work ;D). Also, when it comes to RO designs, I'm a bit iffy about the whole legal issue - the designs made are created to further promote the use of a private game server... Not sure how it would play out. But, the best thing is that nobody rips the designs, and that such a complicated situation won't happen (everything to be resolved peacefully after talking, etc). And thanks, Hyvraine =D! It's ultimately your decision in the end! Edit: And we appreciate having the PSDs <3, thank you!

If you have the picture you want on your computer, just press the first option (use a custom photo), and a button will appear that allows you to choose a file. Then, you can crop it to the avatar image that you want~
  16. Well, it is up to the designers to decide on this - but be sure to mention it in your service threads what you offer and what you don't regarding that XD (general comment). For coded pre-made designs that will be sold for a certain number of times, it is understandable that the PSD doesn't have to be provided. However, if the design is specifically made for a server and that there is a higher fee to it, the PSD should be provided. That way, if there are any changes to be done to buttons (changing the words, etc), the buyer does not have to keep referring back to the designer for additional changes. Furthermore, the designer would not be able to keep selling that tailored design anyways - Is there a worry that the design will be re-sold by the buyer/owner? Since you won't be making more money off of it, there shouldn't be too much of an alarm if such PSD is provided to the buyer. It is sad though that some people will take credits off of the footer, but for majority of the cases, the buyer would keep it if the designer is well-known. It's just a good bonus to show the public that you are willing to buy a great design from a great designer. For the designs I have bought (from ShiJu, SweetHoney, etc), PSDs were always provided (regardless if they were loading screens, patcher skins, web designs, and so forth), and the designers have always said that I can do whatever I want with them. It's a mutual agreement - so buyers should make sure and ask the important questions (or the designers to inform the buyers ahead of time regarding any terms). I have also seen owners selling some of their previous web designs since they are no longer using them (they did pay money for them...). But, designers should tell their buyers ahead of time if such an action is allowed. Some people allow it, some people don't since some coders do not want their modules to be distributed. In the end, the decision is up to you! Of course, your buyers will appreciate having PSDs as well, especially if they are getting a custom design, but just be clear about any terms you may have~
  17. Great that rAthena is back! I think Trac is down, but the other pages including Wiki seem fine <3. Nice~
  18. Lol, nice avatar haha XD!

  19. Oh, awesome =D! So proud of you guys for being dedicated towards this project and for contributing so much of your time and resources in improving RO from a different angle! Completing a project proposed on rAthena is never easy (and uncommon unfortunately) - thank you all for making this a successful project and tool for everyone to use~

    Website

The main website design is only a PSD file - not yet coded. Only the splash page is coded XD. Someone else also coded the Patcher design I made in another download link =D. Been looking for coders for the web design, but it requires some money ><. It'll be awesome if someone can code it later haha. I may make a HTML version of it... maybe? (Don't know how to implement Flux coding.) P.S Tested the download links - they work still!
  21. Yeah, things were going downhill since the bunch of resignations that followed one another. There was something obviously happening behind the scenes... but then again, nobody came out with the truth for the whole community to know - only the select few would completely understand what happened =/. Perhaps if we truly knew what happened, we may change our views, but the thing is, we don't know and judge by what we can know - just the fact that people resigned due to "lack of time, busy life, etc". (I want to know what happened XD, though don't know who's willing to share. Meh, it's in the past now anyways. Better to focus on the present and future.) Though, the words "idiots" and "garbage" are too much >< in the first post, yeah. Everyone made their own contributions, so it's not nice to be ungrateful for free work/development. I can only hope that rAthena can sustain itself since the community is quite/generally nice, but best of luck with Hercules's development as well!
