  1. Very cool! So lets get this to work on all clients!!
  2. While this is a Showcase here, this is released over on Hercules I hope you all enjoy my free map releases, I would directly link you but it is prohibited.
  3. It is released, theres a link to the DL I am not allowed to link you so ill just say its available over at Herc.~
  4. Hello rAthena, (no drama please) So here it is The Updated & Released Castle City of Invek, or just Invek for short. Sorry for any delay in the release of the map but I hope it has been worth the wait. I have struggled with all of the bugs and issues when using BrowEdit, and I believe it has finally paid off! Here is my first public map release and I hope you all enjoy it ! I plan to Release many more maps, and even take requests from time to time. I would GREATLY appreciate any opinions, or general enthusiasm's, after all I could just keep my maps to myself but they are intended to benefit the Community ! If you download my free map release please offer me your input ! -Updated Screen Caps- July 14, 2013 I have included the invek.extra file incase you wish to make a change to the map. You may use this map as you wish, however please do not redistribute as your own work or offer my work at any other location. I do not require being credited for this map. This is intended to be used with sky background, if you have trouble changing the background, installing the map, or making a fix then drop me a PM and I will gladly help support you. DOWNLOAD: (since I apparently can not link you) it is available over on Herc.~
  5. Fixed this issue haha apparently the map files need to be re-opened and "save" instead of Save As, this corrected all my test maps immediately
  6. Thank you very much, This fix worked like a charm~ Great Map! Worth every cent.
  7. Sorry to Double Post but I guess to sum up what I am asking is what procedures do you take when approaching fixing an issue within your map also, Is there something obviously wrong with the procedures I have currently taken in creating my custom map?
  8. - - - Olrox is working to fix this, be patient and we will have a fix soon. Alternatively 2011 & Older Clients should work
  9. Issue / Problem: I have a custom map that I created for testing, it works fine in-game however when I copy the one model I have on the map or add another to the same working map and re-calculate the light maps and save as I crash when I try to load the map in-game. What I did to create the working map; ----> I am using ( 2012-04-10aRagexeRE_J ) ----> Working + Setup Copy of Brow Edit Revision 586 ----> Textures Models Etc. & GRF match up (Setup) ----> Opened a Map from GRF (Gravity Maps, tested multiple) ----> Cleared the Map of all Textures, Walls, Effects etc. ----> Changed the Water height to [ -20 ](Water Edit) ----> Changed (Global Height Value) to be above Water Level. ----> Added some Textures to the map (non-customized) ----> Added one Model (Object) to the map (In-Bounds & Non-customized) ----> Made sure the Object was at the correct Height ----> Added some Lights to the map ----> Calculated the Lightmaps ----> Smoothed the Lightmaps ----> File -> Save As -> Close Brow Edit ----> Added the New Map Files to my (Client-Side) ----> Recompiled Mapcache (Successfully using WeeMapCache) ----> Loaded the map (100%) and my one Model, Lights & Gat Tiles behave correctly So ... No issues yet, however when I proceed to; ----> Re-Open the same (working map files ----> Add or Copy & Paste another Model (Object) ----> Re-Calculate the Lightmaps ----> File -> Save As [New Map Name] -> Close Brow Edit ----> Added the New Map Files to my (Client-Side) ----> Recompiled Mapcache (Successfully using WeeMapCache) ----> Loaded the map (0%) and immediately crash I have attempted multiple things to get this to work such as; ----> Copying and Pasting everything to a new cleaned map (Did not work) ----> Cleaned current map of everything but textures and Height / remade (Did not work) ----> Delete the new model, recalculate lightmaps, save as (Did not work) WTF? What am I doing wrong? I do not understand why it has to be this difficult to design maps, the experienced mappers out there must have a VERY specific set of steps they follow when maping, help me out here so I can stop pulling my hair out I would appreciate it more than words or little green + buttons can begin to explain.
  10. Might I suggest you learn how to setup and compile your own server? You will find no pre-compiled support here unless it is in learning how to do it yourself. (seeing as an entire server can be built and configured in under 30 Min this should not be a problem.) As for your client opening and then IMMEDIATELY closing, may I ask if you have a working audio device attached to your computer? Ragnarok clients are temperamental when it comes to not having audio output
  11. Its a good idea, I would use this, and I know many others who would also.
  12. Yes, mapcache was recompiled , I forgot to list that in my procedure. Thank you suyothegreat for pointing that out. Post Updated- Was using old mapcache recompile method and it was not correctly reading my .gats [RESOLVED] So I am not sure why it was doing this but I believe my mapcache was somehow corrupted, it showed sucessful addition of my custom maps, and "already in cache after it was ran again however the .gat files were not being correctly read. I believe I need to rebuild my solution (recompile) to fix the map cache but I digress. To fix this I used the Alternative Method of using "WeeMapCache" and it loaded my .gat files correctly!! I highly suggest Shin's WeeMapCache to anyone, it works very well. I had yet to try it until now. (Topic Updated)
  13. [RESOLVED]: Solution - Alternative Mapcache Recompile using WeeMapCache [PROBLEM I HAD]: (I've searched for solutions extensively & here's a similar issue to my own.) http://rathena.org/board/topic/61531-resolved-browedit-help-about-walking/ Okay so it seems that this is a semi-known issue and it is driving me into madness not being able to determine what to do, I am having the issue of once I complete a map and add it in the proper locations and attempt to explore the map in-game I am experiencing what I would call "Walkable / Clicking Gat Delays / Errors" this seems to be localized to only a specific quadrant of the map where one small portion of the map is walkable with "few" "lagging" clicks and the other quadrants are completely unreachable / walkable. Steps I have taken; - Working + Setup Copy of Brow Edit Revision 586 - Opened a Map from GRF (Gravity Maps, tested multiple) - Cleared the Map of all Textures, Walls, Effects etc. - Changed the Water height to [ -20 ](Water Edit) - Changed (Global Height Value) to be above Water Level. - Added some Textures to the map (non-customized) - Added some Objects to the map (non-customized) - Made sure the Objects were at the correct Height - Added some Lights to the map - Calculated Lightmaps - File -> Save -> Close Brow Edit - Recompiled Mapcache (successfully) If this is not the proper procedure for opening / saving / editing maps any help or further information would be greatly appreciated. As a side note, I am not sure if this is directly related to resolving my issue but I have not yet attempted to resolve the clipping issue. http://rathena.org/board/topic/66957-i-edit-map-and-save-its-problem-texture-black-help-me/
  14. Try a different encoding when you repack, long shot but that might work for you.
