Sorry, but what is Elecom Shield and how to use?

Good night, I'm here trying to find a solution for my problem: I want to change the night effect color to create an "afternoon" effect (like sunset, or something like that). I already looked into the source and i think i found a data that I believe it is the night effect (SI_NIGHT), but it's set up to 160 (status.h). I'm not so sure if it's the SI_NIGHT. I would like to know where/how I can change the RGB color. PS: The system is done, I just need to add the color. PS²: (Sorry about my english, it isn't my first language!).
