I looked for similar issues and there seems to be some palleting/minor sprite fixes, but nothing as severe as the issue you are encountering. You're other option might be to send a direct message to a graphics mod. I'm sure Olrox, Adel, or DevilEvil would be well equipped to answer your question or push you in the right direction.
