Error, and NO MSG

Hello, a friend and I have tried setting up a precompiled server, brought it online, and diffed the clients. However, when my friend tries booting the diffed .exe it comes up with a text box with the title "Error" and nothing else inside(see first image). When they try using another client in the same folder, the client opens but contains the message "NO MSG"(see second image). Neither of us are terribly tech-literate, and we've been following the guides on the RAthena wiki as closely as possible, but we seem to be stumped on this last step. Can anyone provide a solution?

Diff the client to restore login window, or use an RO loader.

I don't quite understand, the client has already been diffed. As far as loaders go, is there a specific one you have in mind? The one at

http://kmr.homeip.net/~mcleod/loader.html

doesn't seem to want to execute, like its missing some key files.

Is there anyone who could possibly provide a solution? I can give more information if needed, but until someone comes along we're stuck.

let us see your diff and list of your LUB/LUA and msgstringtable,

is it uptodate and placed inside GRF or outside in "data" folder?

I'm sorry, I'm not sure what those are or where I'd find them. They don't seem to be in the server or client files.
