Hello everyone!

I am new here and it is also my first time making my own server, and i call it ProjectV.
Its been day 2 now on my project and ive decided why not make an account here since ive been reading and searching stuffs from here too.

Guides that im following:

*Sir Judas PDF guide v2
*Sir Judas recommended client & setup = http://rathena.org/board/topic/70962-recommended-client-setup/

*Sir Sharpienro's youtube videos.

Stuffs that im using:

*2012-04-10 Client
*rAthena emulator

*Sir judas data files
*Shindiffpatcher
*Grfbuilder

*Grfextractor

*TortoiseSVN
*MySQL
*Visual Studio 2010 express

I have successfully managed to set up my server side and client side. And now im currently testing the server, setting up my server rates and studying how to add custom npc.

But my next big problem now will be setting up my own thor patcher and i dont know anything about port forwarding and hosting it online.

It will be a big help if someone can lend a hand and i'd be willing to cooperate with you.

And sorry if im in a wrong section. I really dont know where to post this. Thank you and more power to rAthena community!

Hi cvscenj,

I can help with Ports but I also have issues with a few things anyway but ports are easy to Give to you you must give every one of these both in and out going connection what will look like this TCP/UPD and also make sure your starting port number is the same as the one ending in the port I have written below this text.

Character: 6121

Maps: 5121

Login: 6900

MySQL: 3306

to find how to open your ports to your Router/Hub use www.portforward.com this will have all resources to showing how to open ports according to your Model of your ISP Router/Hub most of the ports are actually addressed in the 1st video tutorial of Shapienro's Video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LTOOEjRtUo.

If i can find out anymore upon stuff i will try keep you posted.

you may want to take a look on thor's guide. or use neoncube / jikaricube since it's easier. (I failed to make any thor patchers, but I re-made more than 10 Neoncube-based patcher (to be exact: JikariCube))

for port forwarding: http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm

if you're going to get a VPS (Virtual Private Server) (your server will be 24/7 online), you don't need to do this port forward. by default, they'll be open when rA server starts. if something matters, consult your VPS provider to open:

80

6900

5121

6121

I don't suggest you to open 3306 (MySQL). can be dangerous. you can later install phpmyadmin so you access your database from port 80
